  2. What's involved to become a dealer?
Obtaining a Reliable Controls® Corporation dealership is a simple three-step process. The first step is to contact the Regional Sales Manager responsible for managing the dealer network in your area. If there is a good fit, the second step will be to complete a Dealer Application. Upon approval of the application (which may take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks) terms of credit, sales targets and a formal Dealer Agreement are executed. Purchases may begin after this second step. The third step is to send at least one individual from your company to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada to complete the Authorized Dealer certification course. This four day course is mandatory to maintain your Authorized Dealer standing, and must be successfully completed by at least one individual in your organization within 6 months of application approval. That’s it.

  3. Our firm is interested in becoming a dealer, but we wish to have an exclusive agreement for protection. Does your company offer exclusive territories?
No. Dealers sign non-territorial agreements with Reliable Controls® Corporation. Exclusive agreements are not available.

  4. We currently handle one or more competing direct digital controls (DDC) products. Can we become a Reliable Controls® dealer and still retain access to our existing lines?
Yes. There is no provision in our dealer agreement that forces a prospective dealer to drop existing product lines. You must have access to these lines to service your legacy systems. However for new HVAC BACnet® projects, we ask Reliable Controls® to be the preferred line and be promoted as such.

  5. Is there a one-time sign-up fee or annual maintenance fee to become a dealer?
No. There are no fees of any kind levied for becoming a dealer. The only requirement for new dealers who have had their dealer application approved, is the requirement to successfully complete our dealer training requirements.
