Sales Representative – Building Automation & Controls

We are seeking ambitious and self-motivated individuals to join our Project Manager Development Program as a BAS Specialist. BAS Specialists will support the project team in the completion of projects. Your role will involve reviewing engineering specifications, completing shop drawings, programming, graphics and on-site commissioning.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Representative with a strong background in building automation and controls. This position will be based in New Jersey and will involve travel throughout NJ, NYC/NY, and PA. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in HVAC controls, BAS systems, and an ability to build long-term relationships with contractors, engineers, facility managers, and other stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in building automation and control systems
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients
  • Prepare proposals, conduct presentations, and close sales
  • Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to ensure successful implementation
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, products, and competitive landscape

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sales related to building automation, BAS, or HVAC controls
  • Technical knowledge of control systems (DDC, BMS, HVAC integration, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regularly within the region

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with OEMs, contractors, or consulting engineers
  • Familiarity with major controls platforms (e.g., Honeywell, Siemens, Tridium, etc.)
