The Akron Art Museum is a metropolitan art and cultural center, as well as an educational facility. Spanning three centuries, the Akron Art Museum combines a late nineteenth-century brick and limestone building with the twenty-first century John S. and James L. Knight Building, a soaring glass and steel structure by the celebrated Viennese architectural firm Coop Himmelb(l)au.

       

Drill Hall Gallery

Originally built in 1940 to train soldiers for World War II, today the Drill Hall Gallery is part of the Australian National University. In 1984,the interior was remodelled to create an art gallery and in 2004, a Heritage order was placed on the building.

       

Kykuit

Kykuit is a 4-story Beaux Arts Villa built in 1913 by philanthropist and founder of Standard Oil, John D. Rockefeller (Senior). Meaning "lookout" in Dutch, Kykuit served as the family residence for four generations and is currently owned by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and administered by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. Situated in Pocantico Hills overlooking the New York skyline, the facility houses a conference center, guest rooms, and museums.
