“The best thing about working as a developer at Reliable Controls is the opportunity to learn and grow. In the 7+ years I have worked here, I have designed and programmed solutions to problems in a wide range of areas ranging from cryptography and network protocols to memory management algorithms and hardware drivers. The firmware team is very supportive and provides a great opportunity to be creative and learn something new. Plus, who can argue with free coffee and hockey games?”

Matt Clarkson, 7 years at Reliable

“I‘ve worked in several other similar companies and Reliable Controls is by far simply the best working experience I have ever had. Technically speaking it‘s a company producing an exciting line of products with a keen focus on environmental sustainability while utilizing cutting edge technology that keeps the organization competitive and the work very interesting and engaging. More importantly though this is a company with the best focus on people I‘ve ever experienced.”

Bryce McCaughey, 1 year at Reliable

“Workplace culture is very important to me. I spend a lot of time at work and I‘d like to think that my co-workers are my friends. Reliable Controls is one of the most socially active environments I have experienced, from parties, hikes, and camping trips. My first impression on my first day at work was how happy and content all the employees are; did not notice one grumpy person. That says something.”

Sarah Sorensen, 1.5 years at Reliable

“Best place I`ve ever worked and I`ve worked at a few. Company focuses on involvement and participation in sports, company ski trips and family get-togethers like camping, etc. Open to employee input and new ideas. Great working conditions (free coffee and tea). Fun place to work.”

We often employ in Engineering and Computer Science co-op students through the UVic and Camosun College Co-operative Education Programs.

Our co-op program provides a great opportunity for students to get hands-on experience working for a great company in the technology & manufacturing fields. It is also a great opportunity for us to gain exposure to the new and fresh ideas co-op students bring. We encourage an open, inclusive and collaborative work environment for all our staff.

We often find our co-op students fit in so well, we offer them a full-time position. Fact: our VP of R&D was our first ever co-op student!

To apply, keep your eye on the UVic and Camosun co-op career boards as well as on our .

When can I expect to hear back about my application?

We review applications as they come in and will be in touch via email if we are impressed and feel you are a potential fit. We realize how much effort you put into your application and we try to get back to everyone regardless.

What can I expect in the first interview?

If you have been selected for an interview, congrats! Most likely you will meet with HR and the direct manager. We try to approach the first interview as more of a conversation with a little structure. We will tell you more about us as a company and the role and you will tell us about you and what experience you have had that is most fitting for the role.
