About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Control Technician / Project Manager with hands-on experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS) to join our growing team. This hybrid role requires both technical expertise in HVAC controls and the ability to manage projects from concept through completion. You'll work closely with internal teams, contractors, and end-users to ensure system functionality, performance, and client satisfaction.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, program, commission, and troubleshoot BMS systems (DDC, BACnet, Modbus, etc.)
  • Oversee all phases of BMS project delivery, including planning, scheduling, execution, and close-out
  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and general contractors, as well as building owners and consultants
  • Interpret mechanical plans, control drawings, and sequences of operations
  • Generate and maintain project documentation (submittals, as-builts, wiring diagrams, commissioning reports)
  • Provide onsite and remote technical support to field teams and clients
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, safety protocols, and project budgets
  • Identify opportunities for system optimization and recommend improvements
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, vendors, and stakeholders

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC controls, or a closely related field
  • Solid understanding of control systems architecture and integration
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operations
  • Experience with platforms such as Reliable Controls, Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls, Distech, Siemens, or similar
  • Strong problem-solving and project coordination skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed

 

Preferred but Not Required:

  • Certifications such as Niagara N4, Tridium, or equivalent
  • Experience managing subcontractors and project budgets
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency measures and system optimization
