Wellesley is a small primary school situated on the edge of a housing estate in the south of Yate, Bristol. With 210 children enrolled and one class per year group, Wellesley embraces a wide curriculum and is dedicated to developing happy, motivated learners.
Authorized Dealer Controlco installed a Reliable Controls building automation system during a retrofit of Wellesley Primary School, with the South Gloucestershire Council acting as engineering consultant.
Networked hardware included a MACH-ProWebSys controller connected to eight MACH-ProZone controllers via MS/TP to control a main boiler plant, a geothermal heat pump, an automatic gas-fired hot-water generator, pumps, an air-handling unit, and gas, water, heat, and electrical meters.
The project integrated existing infrastructure and network wiring with the Reliable Controls system. School was in session during the retrofit, but off-site programming and prefabrication, coupled with school holidays, reduced disruptions.
The ability to effectively control underfloor zones led to considerable energy and labor savings.
