As the world’s largest integrated oil and gas company, Aramco produces an uninterrupted supply of energy and chemicals that enhance the lives of people and businesses around the globe. Aramco traces its beginnings to a Concession Agreement between Saudi Arabia and the Standard Oil Company of California in 1933; drilling began 5 years later, and in 1938 commercial oil production commenced from the aptly named “Prosperity Well.” In 1980 the Saudi government purchased 100 percent ownership in the company, and by the early 2000s, Aramco had moved beyond traditional markets for oil and gas and invested in new technology to achieve cleaner, more efficient production of oil, including enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of transportation.
Reliable Controls Authorized Dealer Automated Environmental Technologies (AET) installed a building automation system during construction of a new service station in Riyadh, the first in a network of retail outlets in the city.
Using RC-Studio software, an all-in-one engineering tool for designing, developing, and deploying Reliable Controls building automation systems, AET programmed operational efficiencies and occupant comfort strategies that will help Aramco achieve its sustainability goals now and in the future. Two MACH-ProView LCD Operator Display controllers provide attractive, high-resolution graphical interfaces in the building that allow users to access, control, and monitor comfort, energy use, and more.
AET used two MACH-ProCom controllers expanded with MACH-ProPoint modules to integrate the building’s mechanical equipment, including a packaged air-conditioning unit and humidifier. With extensive network routing ability to multiple open protocols and highly scalable inputs and outputs, the MACH-ProCom BACnet Building Controller achieves an optimum balance between form and function. Six SMART-Sensor Duct devices communicate sensor information digitally with the MACH-ProCom controllers, providing temperature readings without consuming hard inputs.
Aramco is committed to driving energy efficiency and addressing climate change through technological innovation and capturing emissions to turn them into useful industrial products. These and other strategies have given Aramco one of the lowest carbon footprints in the oil and gas industry. Reliable Controls and AET are proud to help Aramco achieve its sustainability goals in this milestone service station in Riyadh.
