AdventHealth delivers equitable whole-person care for its patients, team members, and the communities it works in. Its Central Florida Division encompasses more than 20 hospitals and emergency rooms in seven counties in and around Orlando. At AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach, community services include cancer care, diabetes care, emergency and urgent care, imaging and lab services, heart and vascular care, home and hospice care, sports medicine and rehab, senior care, neurology, and more.

Authorized Dealer Precision Automation Inc. replaced an existing building automation system at AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach with a Reliable Controls solution. Before the installation, building operators had been working with another supplier for more than 2 years to resolve issues with the existing system that meant a maintenance technician had to be on site 24/7 to manually control the central energy plant.

Precision Automation Inc. commissioned MACH-ProCom, MACH-ProView LCD, MACH-ProWebSys, and MACH-ProZone devices to control three water-chilled coolers, three cooling towers, two secondary chilled water pumps, two steam boilers, and two steam heat exchangers for building reheat. Today the MACH-ProWebSys controller, a unique combination BACnet Building Controller, BACnet Operator Workstation, and powerful web server, allows building operators to conveniently access and control mechanical equipment over the internet.

The MACH-ProView LCD controller provides facility operators with high-resolution graphical interfaces to easily access, control, and monitor comfort and energy use. They can choose from a selection of configurable views to display real-time data and edit object values on custom background images using text, graphics, and animations like buttons and sliders.

The power and flexibility of RC-Studio allowed Precision Automation Inc. to integrate the Reliable Controls system with a range of mechanical equipment from third-party vendors. This easy-to-learn, easy-to-use BACnet Advanced Operator Workstation software provided a customizable multiprotocol solution for database, alarming, scheduling, trending, and sequence of operation programming.

Today the central energy plant operates efficiently and automatically, without the need for constant adjustment by the maintenance crew, and chillers, pumps, and tower fans are programmed to meet building demand. The Precision Automation Inc. team will be working with AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach for two more years to continue transitioning older building controls to the Reliable Controls system.
